cloning question

Hi RIU,

I've done some cloning in the past, and I might say with reasonable success rate. I was doing some reading today about cloning on RIU and I've noticed two totally different sets of opinion in regards to how to insert a cutting in medium.
Some people are saying that the lowest node must be inserted into the rockwool while others see no need for an underground node, just half inch of stem will do it.

What do you guys consider the best way to deal with this problem?

I do not use rockwool for cloning but have never planned to have a node under the top of the medium. It happens sometimes because of cutting selection. I try to take cuttings from the lowest branches and sometimes it just happens.
