Is a rooting formula a must when cloning? I bought the cloning Gel but I just need to know before I start taking clones off my plant. Any of you use it? Or like I said is it a Must have to have a rooting formula/booster?

Thanks!

It depends what are you using to clone? Jiffy pellets? Rock wool? Cloner? Technically you on,y need a medium and water, i hear honey works too as well as gel

Yes, use the gel. The method I use, which incorporates a non name brand rooting compound, gets me roots creeping out the top like old man chest hair in 7-10 days with 100% success rate, all the time.

I bought Clonex and I will give it a try. Any one using Clonex?

Clonex works. Do a test side by side some with, some without, and just see for yourself. How you clone can also determine what product you use. Rockwool cubes work best with powders, gels kind a are the middle of the road for all mediums and concentrated liquids work better on ez-cloners. They all work but are not necessary. They do help though.

Gels, powders, and liquid cloning agents are not needed. I use 1/4 strength or less nutrient solution on rockwool 1.5" unwrapped cubes (or the newer macro-plugs) in a 10x20 flat with humidity dome and have had a 100% success rate since 1993 on several different strains.
