pretty plants....no clue what strain. looks indica though. i'd personally let her go another week or so. at the stage your babies at it will grow quite a bit in the next week or so. you can take cuttings now if you want but i'd wait till she was a little bigger

do you know where some good info is about taking cuttings because when i do it i want to do it right? and ill be going out of town for a week and i have a close friend who will be watering for me and i want to keep it low maintenance for him.... so i should probablly wait on the cuttings until i get back right.

any cloning powder or gel

make sure you ph water to between 5 and 6

use any medium you want i.e. rockwool, soiless, perlite, vermiculite. any one of these will do

make cuts with sterile scissors or razor blades.

make cuts at a 45 degree angle

After you cut put immediately into water to prevent embolisms.(oxygen getting into the stem)

Scrape the bottom of the stem to stimulate root growth

dip in powder or gel

insert into medium and make sure the rooting hormone stays on

keep away from direct sunlight or keep your cfl far away. you dont want the plants to cannibolize themselve.(remember they have no roots so they cant absorb nutes)If the light is to close they will start to use up energy in the leaves to support photosynthesis

keep them in a humidity dome

keep them misted with water

keep them moist.

you friend can handle it if you make sure you do the cloning, and just let him mist the cuttings

does it matter how long the cuttings are? as long as i have a stem coming off one of the nodes we are ok right?

i think you should take fairly large cuttings, but any size will do as long as the stem is sturdy. The mother should be healthy and have a solid stem structure.

check out my journal to see how big i cut mine to be.

ok cool very nice set up by the way.. one more thing why did you cut your leaves when you cloned them?

because the plant has no roots and it cant suck up the nutes needed to support the plant. you really dont need them. cut about half of em off. its not super important i dont think, some do it, some dont. i just did it cuz it makes sense.

Just to stress this. Do you see how i had my clones under two cfl's? Dont do that, my cuttings were eating themselves because of all that light. Keep the light low and himidity up. your himidity dome sould be foggy.

Also if you can get a heat pad from an aquarium shop or hydro shop that would be great. Cuttings like to be warm when they root.
