cloning while in flowering

im a newbie to both growing and cloning, i was wondering if i would be able to clone from a flowering plant. the plant is 7 weeks into flowering. would the plant turn back to veg or stay flowering ? would it work ? would it be a sensible thing to do ? anybody else ever tried this or is it only smart to clone while vegging

Now I am only on my 3rd grow and have cloned since I was a newbie grower too. My 1st clones I didnt use any gel just some starter juice and clones were all successful. 2nd clones and 3rd I used gel and starter juice all clones survived. Now on with your question I have taken clones early, while in veg, and I have taken clones later into the bloom or flowering. Now when I did it into the Flowering stage I never took a clone that was further than 21 days. after 14 days or so into flower i always seen a nice bloom state so I figured it was too late at that point. I did further research and reading and I have seen the 14-21 day flowering mentioned many times. So it would be interesting to know but I am sure 7 weeks is a little far. Mainly because the plant is going through so much stress as it is as a clone and to be forced back into veg at the same time would probably kill it. Try not to stress the plant she wants to live a worry free life lol.

You can take clones anytime you like, but it's preferable to do so when the plant is in veg still. A buddy of mine recently gave me a clone of Blueberry Kush that he'd taken from a flowering plant. The clone actually had a tasty looking nug on it. It took a month or more for it to slowly figure out that it wasn't in flower anymore and gradually put on new veg growth. It is more than a little stressful for a clone to revert to veg from flowering. I've even heard that it causes hermies sometimes, but I haven't experienced it. Bottom line is like Paparazzi said above, you want to minimize stress and forcing MJ to revert to veg from flower is stressful.

I've had great success from cloning as late as week 3. see the pics. I've even heard of successful clones taken during harvest. You get a crazy, bushy plant that looks like it's already been LST'd. it's definitely worth a shot. it will be much easier if you have an aero or bubble cloner

if you are successful with the clone (which you will be) i'm told that it give you a busher plant

also keep in mind plants do this all the time in nature
