No, you normally only clone the females. You tell the sex by the flowers.

You can clone it and once rooted toss it into flowering to find out.

Or you can let it grow for a while in veg and look for the telltale signs.
(thinking that once the clone is rooted and in the bloom-room long enough to tell, the wait and see will show the sex too. But just my opinion)
