Closet grow advice

So I've been out of growing for several years and looking to get back into it. I'm thinking of using stinkbuds setup but using LED's instead of hps.

The room is 5x6 and thinking of using 2 setups and vegging for 4 weeks instead of 3 as he does. The problem I'm having is trying to make sure there is enough power for LED's, I will be using flouros for veg/clone area.

If anyone has any other suggestions or ideas to produce a decent amount of bud perpetually using a hydro/aero grow I would be interested in hearing what you have to say. I am trying to figure out ways for exhausting the air also.

depends on where you are in the world man. It’s hot where I live and my closet is up in the 80s when the lights are on. The only way to make it better is leaving my door open and getting airflow. I over did it on my fan too. I’m running dimmed Quontom boards as well.

As TIM said, you're going to need very good air flow in a sealed room like that and IMO, you might need to bore a 6" hole in your ceiling. My veg is a 2x4 closet and it gets hot as balls in there, so much so that I had to ditch my T5 floro and get a nice little LED Quantum Board. I also have just a 4" hole in that ceiling and I do struggle with temps still.

IMO, because you don't have that much space to work with, I suggest using about 2/3-3/4 of the space for a single bloom room and the rest for a small veg space. Assuming clones take 2 weeks to root, then your 4 week time table is pretty good. If you frequently take clones in pairs, you can load maybe 3-4 plants into bloom. So if you put one in every 3 weeks or so, you can later harvest every 3 weeks or so. Of course more space would be preferred, but we each make the most with what we have.

hey man after doing some reading online. Everyone is saying don’t put the hole in ceiling becuase the moisture that is going up into the attic could cause mold. What I just did in my closet was put an exhaust hole through my wall into the other room. I then put a register too make it look like any other ac port in the house.

I had it go into a exchange before but it really wasn’t as efficient as I had hoped. 2 hours into having my door closed and it still hovering at 78.

78 is good. I like mine around 74-80 and 70 in the dark.

For sure exhausting into your attic is a bad idea. Getting it outdoors is the best.

I’m trying to find the sweet spot. I got a 600 w quontom board set. Now that I got my ventilation to where it should be I can tweak my light intensity to match the temps.

Remote mount ballasts. Make sure you have good air exhaust. If temps are still an issue, try to duct in cool air from outside.

To perpetual harvest, you need another tent/room. I use a tiny GL80 tent for my clones. Keep them small. Sometimes I trim moms down to 1 or 2 nodes so they take a LONG time to grow, allowing me to keep them smaller and also keep more strains on hand.

Yeah man for perpetual get 2 tents or different grow spaces at least. Light leaks will hurt your quality.

Okay, what about 2 grow tents, two setups of 7 plants instead of 14 aeroponic for flower to cut down on space needed, and then cloning area too, and taking clones from those and not having any mother's.

As far as exhausting and airflow, using fans on the tent with a exhaust vent in the ceiling to vent into the attic.

As far as LED's I'm not sure what to get. I'm just trying to cut down on the power draw because I cannot modify any of the wiring at the panel. I can add the exhaust fan due to simple wiring. But just trying to get opinions on the situation

I built a pair of these LED FIXTURES, but to cut costs further, I bought the components and got the aluminum angles locally and built frames myself. I swapped out my 600w HIDs and the COBs have been wiping the floor with those HIDs. In fact, this fixture puts out too much light for my little 3'6" squared rooms and I can't exceed 70% of the output so that also translates to less current being pulled from the wall. Most people connect to 220 volts, but I just connect to the standard 120 volts. It pulls more amps through the house wiring, but it's still the same kilowatt hours at the end. I also opted for the larger drivers so to have more power than I'll need. By my estimation, I use about 400 watts from the wall which is still 33% less than what my HID was pulling, the light is full spectrum which is not even possible in HID, and I have to deal with way less heat. My concern now coming into the winter months is will I miss the heat made by the HIDs, but that lone concern aside, the LEDs are WAAAAAY better than the HIDs for growing.

I'll definitely check that light out. I work as a industrial electrician so it isn't too hard I just don't own this house which is why I can't do any real big changes... Landlord has said small stuff go ahead but nothing crazy lol, he's cool with stuff though.

I personally would went into attic. Your attic has soffit vents and roof vents to remove moisture. A good quality carbon filter, over sized if possible, is a definite must have item. In the past, I vented into the house and no matter what carbon filter you use, your house is going to stink and be super humid.
