Closet Vent question

Hey guys,

I'm planning a small closet grow in my bedroom, just want 2 plants in there. It's fairly small about 2ft x 5 1/2 ft long. Do I need an intake and exhaust for something that small? I was looking into 1 400 watt HPS (or less), and lost at where/how to vent for a basic setup like that. Where does the exhaust have to go, and wheres the intake have to come from? It's cooling down outside, and where I am gets COLD in the winter..so i'm not super worried about keeping the temps down in the room, unless the 400watt HPS will produce a ton of heat.

Any advice for something super basic?

Run that 400w at night...pull in the air from outside with the duct to the attic vent and an in line fan 6"

While drilling 6" holes in your wall and ceiling. 400w HPS will produce a ton of heat.

Thanks guys....issue though, I dont have access to the attic vent...anything else I could do? I'm renting so drilling a ton of holes isn't ideal, but I guess a cpl I could just patch up

You need that air flow, if no damage, try getting clever.... Can you rig the vent to work thru the door? replacing a door @ move-out (or even for an inspection/visit) is cheap and easy... who doesn't damage a door living in a place, right?

Whats on the other side of the closet walls? If one is the laundry area, punch a 4" hole that way, and another right next to or above the dryer exhaust... connect it up... a 4" fan should keep a 400w cool enough but its as high as you wanna go for sure... Still need intake somewhere, if u were running a tent in the closet, you could let fresh air in under the door.... but w/o the tent you need the door light tight....

The size of your room vs. the size of your grow is the best thing you got going for you wight now, if this closet is tall enough, you may have hope yet...

Me.... I use a whole room... its closet is for veg... 4" hole in the floor (in) 2 6" holes in side (thru a board in the window) for portable A/C and lights exhaust... and a 4" at the top w/ a temp activated bathroom fan if things get warm... (veg room has same heat fan system, blows into flower room, it has exhaust and A/C lol)

Now I have to figure out how to cool my system when I move a 600w to a 1000w..... Finally got my 1000w mag ballast back, no big ass hood for it tho... figure I'll get a CDM lamp for it and rock a vert cage some day, but thats basement growing, lol...

I have a 2x5 closet that I flower in. With a single non air cooled 400w hps without amy venting your looking at probably 110+. When I started using that closet I used a non ac 400 with an 8 inch booster fan as exhaust and I had trouble keeping it under 90.
Now I have 2 400 w hps in ac hoods with a 400cfm fan pulling through them and its been sitting at 81 up until the last couple days here.
