CMH: Bare Bulb or Air Cooled?

I finally pulled the trigger and bought my grow light. Decided to go with a CMH. The unit I got has a vertical bulb in a reflector, but with no glass cover.

So here is my question. In a 3' x 3' x 6'11" grow tent, should I leave the bulb bare, or buy a kit that fits it with a glass cover and is air cooled?

you have the 315w? you dont need air cooling for that. as long as you have fresh air coming in, you are good. you could even run a vert scrog in there with the bare bulb, check out the vert section. you might want a cheap reflector to start when they are all small if you dont have a separate veg area.

Air cooling is a waste of PAR for that bulb. Go open hood or bare bulb. Alternatively if you don't care for the cheap hoods (like myself) find an air cooled hood you can remove the glass from.

Same answer. I have the sunsystem one. It runs pretty cool. You wont need an air cooled hood
