co2 during veg?

diy isnt gonna cut it, gonna do a tank for sure, just a matter of can i wait 6 weeks or not? i never used it before in veg and the plants grew great, but it was getting the carbon scrubbed air from my flower room that probably had extra co2 in it. this is a whole new setup now and i am not sure how its going to all be configured.

hey r2f what difference? faster growth? more vigorous?

it would certainly benefit you in veg most def. CO2 just speeds up the process, and the plant will also require more of it during really high temps - but i dont know what yours are.

BUT.. CO2 will only do well, if you kill your exhaust to the outside (if that applies), and do it while the lights are on. If you have good circulation then you dont need it per se. But extra will help move things along a bit quicker. Lots of info on this site abt this. But I can say that it is not a means to an end, or maybe better said, it will only work best if all your other elements are dialed in. Temp, water, nutes, lights, air, etc.

you can DIY.. just depends on your space, and doing some research i guess.. its best if you can get it releasing over the canopy of the plant(s). or a small space filled will do the trick. Tanks and generators are def more pro ways to go. I wouldnt waste my time with a Co2 Boost bucket. been there done that. pfft. Tanks are pricier than generators month to month, but arent as efficient in terms of output as a generator. But with a generator you have this propane flame going in your grow space. its a trade off :P With a tank you will need a solenoid valve too. getting the tank is pricey, but refills are cheap. check like welding spots, or gas spots, places that do propane might have it if they are a specialty gas shop.

you dont want to go over 1500ppm in the space for CO2, that presents another issue of taking good precise measurements. Controllers are pricey. there are cheap methods from gro sto's but they arent as accurate.

yep thx buraka i think youre right. that boost bucket is retarded my local grow store was trying to sell it to me, what a joke! for the money it costs i might as well do a real setup (like 150 for the bucket then 110 for refills she said!). plus i could do a diy bucket to work the same, but for way cheaper. a tank is 300 and refills are 30, which i would need about every 2-3 months. ive already had a tank before, so i know the deal. a regulator is about 150. hose is 10. pvc, chain, zipties 25. timer is 10. btw i dont bother to glue the pvc frame and the zipties are to be kept loose to just keep the hose attached to the frame, but not cut the air flow. i guess you could glue the pvc and drill holes to have co2 escape through it, but thats just a lot of work! a hacksaw is a great tool to cut pvc or you can buy a fancy pvc cutter. then just a bunch of 90 degree elbows to configure it to fit around the layout of your lights. anyway, this isnt a diy thread, if you guys have more advice, dont be shy, speak up! there is so little talk on this forum about co2, are you all running ghetto noob grows or what? haha come on! what was your indoor co2 setup???

I just have one 20lbs tank, on timers and 2 hoses that drape over the canopy. Exhaust goes on & off when CO2 is in use. Goes on for about 15 mins every few hrs. I just ran out so I go to get it refilled. Brand new they are about 200$ here and refills are $20ish. I need to get a CO2 controller/regulator but they're so $$

thanks. i guess i will get the co2 now and try it during veg to see if it makes a difference first hand. and then i will just move it to flower or keep it in veg and buy a second setup, depending on the results. yep a controller will have to wait. i have plenty of wall timers that will work for now. that new sentinel chhc-4 is badass though, and it should be for 590 dollars!
