CO2 Meter/Controller

Right now I'm running my co2 off a regulator and a timer. I used the calculator to determine how long to run the co2 and what setting I should put my regulator on.

I'm not a fan of guessing and hoping I like to know the real numbers and have decided I need to a co2 controller or monitor of some sorts.

Is there a good monitor out there that's relatively inexpensive? I keep thinking about pulling the trigger on the Sentinel CHHC-4 but I think it's overkill for my application and I don't want to spend that kind of money if I don't have to.

Any one have any suggestions?

I've already used the syringe deal to check co2 levels and it works okay but it's not as accurate as I'd like and those little cartridges for it are rather expensive.

I have never grown but I'm setting up for my first time, I've looked at many controllers and it seems once a CO2 meter is added to anything the price bumps several hundred dollars. I have thought of calculating and I'm still not decided on the big expense but I would like to idiot proof my garden, especially seeings I'm an idiot when it comes to growing marijuana.

Hi, Boozer
I just bought and put into use a Sentinal CPPM-1 in my little box..3'x3'x7'ish
set at 1250ppm, it cycles continuiously thruout lights on from 1125ish to 1440ish..
takes 3-4 minutes per cycle.. I'm guessing It's going to start costing me for the gas..
I used one tank for 6 months and then filled it due to gilt when I used timers..
timers work but I like seeing number on a meter.
"Overkill" I see it as a way to, 1 have bigger yields, and 2 not having to worry as much about heat
and extra fans..

but I have a question.. does it matter what setting your CO2 regulator is set for??

I set mine so the room fills in a minute or so, so pretty high... most co2 controllers use fuzzy logic so they will adjust to whatever you set it at. Mine will dispense for around 10-15 seconds to maintain levels, and it stops dispensing before the sensor even reads an increase in co2... pretty cool.

Oh yeah... I've seen the same box as the cap ppm2 or 3 (the little box with the liquid crystal readout) as another brand for sale on ebay for about $300. WELL worth it, IMO. I got a Plug n Grow IGS-220 to handle cycling the exhaust fan and coordinating co2 release with exhaust too.

I do have the CAP-4 fan/co2 controller (no fuzzy for PPMS) I could tie it into the Sentinal for fan controll
but as luck has it (finally) I need no exhaust during lights on.. It's pegged at 85F.. I do exhaust (w timer)
during lights off...

I'm about to get a Sentinel CHHC-4 with CO2 tank. Its a great controller, and not much more than just the CPPM-1 which only does CO2. Spend the extra $150 or so and get the extra features of the chhc-4 if you ask me:
