co2 tank question'

So my buddy got a bunch of free mini co2 tanks that were from kegerators. He told me that he cranks it open for like 10-15 seconds a couple times a day into his grow. I'm just wondering if this is safe and an okay method to add some co2 into my grow. I'm just not sure I'm trying to throw down the extra money for the regulator, timer, and whatever else I would need to make it run on its own.

A titan co2 regulator that plugs into the wall, a timer to set at 15 minute increments, and some tubing to go from the regulator, up the wall, along the ceiling, and right above a fan or your table.

Note he says "right above a fan or your table". CO2 is heavier than room air and sinks quickly.

Ya i mean you if you want a monitor then sure, get one. Theyre expensive. The setup I reccomended is less than a hundred bucks and it will give you a little boost which is what i figured you were after. If you run a monitor controler you plow through co2 pretty fast and its probably better to get a large tank, like the five foot tall one. Otherwise you just set the timer for like two or three times a day. One an hour after lights on and one or two times after that. Theres a room size calculator that will tell you how many times a day to run it.

sorry, I think you got me confused with the OP. I personally would only use a monitor with a photocell. But, if that way works and you like big tanks and trips to the hydro store.

Oh ya, he was asking how to get some small tanks to work better than just opening them and squirting some into the room. Ive been messed up on pain pills for two days straight from an accident i just had and im a little loopy. Maybe i should just stick to reading and not posting lol.
