Co2

I tried out the CO2 method of mixing sugar water and yeast and its been sitting around for a day now and since i started it its filled a small bag about 1/10th full. How is this supposed to create enough CO2 to make any difference. Especially if you have ventilation where the tiny amount of CO2 is blown away anyway. I think breathing at it makes more CO2, but thats a pretty inpractical solution.

when you breathe out - you're not breeathing pure co2.

you can test the co2 output easily, if you have an air tight air line from you're co2 container, you should be able to put the tube into a cub of water, and it will bubble as co2 is released. keep in mind you should shake the container up a few times a day to get the bursts out of the co2. i am personally thinking of setting up a 5 gallon bucket and using a pump to keep it releasing co2, not sure how well it would go, though. sugar would most likeley clog the pump.

other method's of not having to shake involve growing yeast on a piece of old toast on top of the solution, so that it just sits there and eats the sugar.

any co2 is going to help.

Good post russ0r. Just remember that after shaking the container the CO2 will continue to release little bits at a time for a while. It will gradually get lower, but will still continue to work. Shaking it 3 or 4 times a day should do the trick!
