Hi All,

Any help would be greatly appreciated in regard to my problem, this is my first grow and was going to post in the newbie section however are having some issues with my plants so please forgive me if its the wrong section.

So i am growing in a small grow tent 1.2m X .6 X 1.6m height and have recently put in a 400W MH light into the tent, since putting the light in i am having issues with the heat off set from the light it is drying out the soil extremely quick, its around 26-30 degrees Celsius in there most of the time and i don't have a automatic feeding regime set up yet, just feeding them once a day doesn't seem to cut it with the new light, so that is something i will have to look into.

Other then that my plants seem to be having a few issues at the moment and i was hoping that some one would be able to help me out.

The plants are around 8 weeks old and in Veg stage with a 18/6 light schedule, but one of the plants is extremely "droopy" and looks like its struggling abit and im stuggling to figure out why. I am growing in Coco Coir and feeding with coco coir nutes as directed by the manufactor on the bottle, and also the leaves are curling in slightly on the plant i have read that this could be due to incorrect PH however i calibrate my meter weekly and it seems to be correct.

The droopy plant could be from over watering but i have to water them as much as i am at the moment due to the heat in the tent being so high the coco dries out quite quick.

If anyone else is growing a simular basic set-up like myself, how do you guys have a watering system set up?
Do you drip feed from a large bucket of nutes with a automatic pump every hour or so? Since installing the new light i believe i have to set up a system like this as what i am doing at the moment doesnt seem to cut it.

With the curling of the leaves i test the PH run off of the water and comes out as a strange reading of 5.2 however as much as i flush it with my nutes at 5.7 it doesnt seem to come up.

Really struggling to get my head around it all and any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! :wall:

Il attach some picture so you can have a look, i have also attached a photo of the other plant that doesnt seem to be having any issues and looks like its coming along nicely.photo (3).jpgphoto.jpgphoto (1).jpg

**Anything i post is completely hypothetical and i am just curious in the best way to grow tomatoes and herbs in a hydroponic system***

i agree with spicysativa. take a pot same size as the one your plants are in.
fill it with same stuff you are growing in.
allow it to dry completely.
feel the weight of this pot and compare it to the weight of the pots your plants are in.
when the pot the plant is in feels almost as light as the empty, dry pot, it is time to water until water comes out the bottom of the pot.
feed nutes at most every other watering, then use plain water the next time and so on.

thats the 1 thing i really noticed that i had to do when i was using coco coir, i had to water daaily, 2 times daily at times when they got bigger. I started
to get deformed leaves like that, but my leaves became very hardy, crispy like. So i just went back to soil:dunce:
The drip system would be a great idea
