Has anyone ever grown a coffee plant before??? Looking for advice.I just bought a one year old arabian coffee plant from Exotic Angle Plants. I googled it up and it says it takes at least two years before it will ever make beans but it will make fragrant flowers every season till then. The foliage is pretty. Really green and shiny w/ broad leaves.
The pot I bought was tiny (<1qt) and it had four little 8" plants in it. I was hoping to separate the plants but the root ball was so entangled that I would have just killed them all trying. So I repotted the clump into a 4 qt. pot of organic soil mix.
The tag that came with them gives the following specs:
Temp. 65-80
Water. medium
Light. High Light, INDIRECT ONLY
Growth rate. medium
The part that has me confused is the lighting needs. It says high light but no direct sunlight, so do you think it will do well under like 110Ws CPF or will that be too much light.
Right now it is getting no light at all really because it did not take to the transplant well. It wilted a lot and most of the bottom leaves turned brown and fell off. Its been about a 12 days since the transplant and all four plants in the cluster are showing a good amount of new growth but its looking a bit leggy like it stretching for light so should I through it under the floros.
WTF is High, indirect light???
