coffee table grow

ok
so i am new here, Hi by the way!!!!
I have done one grow before on a larger scale, (mostly a whole room). but nothing small scale
the large scale was with many plants, with the same equipment as listed, got an oz per plant hoping to get similar if not more, thanks

I just moved in with my fiance and she says i can continue on if i do it small time, which is cool
Ok so here is the initial plan
I have 2 sofas that meet in a corner and thus leaving a little square space i have built a coffee table that fits in the gap inner dimensions are
87 width by 90cm depth by 50cm high
the equipment that i have are 5 cfls veg and 5 cfls flower all at 125watt
also i have loads of pc fans at my disposal

so this is my plan
i want to do a 3 by 3 grid, so nine babys in total,

what do people think, i am using 2 out-take fans as the carbon filters stop alot of air flow( havnt made them yet as i am not sure)
what do people think, so this possible
its almost gonna be like a 16oz cup grow

thanks for your advice and time in advance

akhigh

sorry for the bad paint drawing, if its unclear please ask, need the help thanks

sounds like a good plan man...i havent used carbon filters so im not sure about those.
but i would have the lights in the highest place possible...im not sure how much room that is going to give you. if you think it wont get to small in there than go for it...ill ccheck back
peace

Hey guys
long time no see
so
this is the deal, i have started, well i started in January, and have hit a many bumps well, mountains on the way, some of which i still have to over come

as you can see above, that was the original dimensions, due to using scrap would and saving the pennies, it changed

so attached is the new dimensions and the current set up

I am Low stress training the babies, to keep them low, they are completely flat
unfortunately i got a branch, that had been cut from a mother on jan 1st, made clones on the 3rd!!!!! i know, poor poor

made 8 in total 3 survived

2 are lovely, and one is still the same size, i think it will forever be a dwarf, but thats fine, my misses thinks its cute

anyway

last week i took 2 more clones

i want to get a rotating sea of green setup going.
i want to take maybe 2 clones every two weeks, or 3 weeks, have them veg a bit, then flower,
this means i would be harvesting 2 plants every 2 weeks to a month,
enough for me to get by (just), and not put money into organised crime

i am guessing i can get half to an oz of each

ok this means that i will have a total (at most) of
2 clones
2 end veg
2 early flower
2 mid flower
2 harvest ready

thats 10 in total
and i want to do it all in the coffee table

optimistic hey

specially as i have already been vegging the original ones since jan and haven't flowered them yet, so much stress, poor bastards

ok
so as you can see in the proposed image, i want to put in a "wall" and separate the "large" flower area from small veg area

the main problem is that i have already got temps of 24 to 26, and i want it lower than that, mainly becausue i live in a converted un insulated attic flat, and i get scared of police chopper cameras.
if i put in the divide wall than i have to contend with the 18 hour light cycle penetrating through into the 12 hour flower room!!!!
and i have to contend with air flow,
does any one have any ideas, or suggestions???
i want to go flower asap the babies, but i cant cos i have the clones in the same box

i built a diving wall with 3 holes at the bas for pc fans, but the light will come through and i think the tem will increase

ah i forgot, the tem was 26 to 28 with 2 veg lights
24 to 26 with one
i need three in total!!!!!
what to doooooooo

any help would be appreciated

the other plants and pots are Rosemary, parsley, garlic chives, mini chilli pepper tree, and a mini sweet peper tree, and some special Chinese chives,
i will remove them when the space gets limited, though i would give them a boost, the parsley is really strong better than anything else, only a week old

will post pics in a sec

tbhanks

the lights are a friend of mines and i have broken 3, need to repolace them, he is thinking maybe i could go for led strip or something, keep the heat down, got to buy something, what do people think ??

Interesting concept. I wonder if you could stack the lights at one end and let the plants grow sideways towards it.

well roots frow down due to gravity, and plants grow up due to light, i have noticed with the chives they are all bent over like crazy towards the light, i think u could get them to "self LST" if u put the lights on the side, i thought about that with another grow idea, using a pc server case, and line every wall and top with led strips, should get some real good light coverage from every angle, and nice buds on even the lower smaller brabches,,
i am hoping by doing it like this that i should end up with many small little colas rather than the typical main cola and hearts formation

if all goes to plan i would put the lights at an angle, one low, one high, and slowly move the plants along like a conveyor belt, well a very slow conveyor belt :D

sorry for the spelling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i use led and your not going to be able to use them unless they are a full 12-18 inches away from your plant so i think this is not the way to go. also you have twice the intake vs exhaust....... you need negative pressure not positive otherwise your gonna run into smell issues.

thanks for the advice ninja, so led is a nono, thats a shame,
yea the smell is not to bad atm, nothing flowering, :D
i was wondering if i can increase the output by using more fans, would it work, ontop of each other ???i have loads
but i dont have the space to put them next to each other like the intake, so would i get more cfm if they are stacked ontop?

the smell isnt the worry as much as the airflow, and temp

thanks for your help so far!

Hey dude, like the idea of what your trying to do hear so i thought i would give you my input.
firstly to keep temps down LEDs are the only way to go if you want to increase your lighting but not temps. I have not tried them myself but i am subbed to this grow https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/397213-white-widow-led-grow.html

check it out, he has his leds very very close to his plants and amaznig results..

as for dividing it, i dont know what you have built so far but if it were me i would make like a square frame, kinda like a scrog frame and stretch over some black PVC sheeting and staple it round the edges... that way when you take your lid off your screen will stay in place! would be very easy to make small slits in the far corners with a stanly blade to help with air flow but would hardly let light through and it would take up hardly any room in such a small area. Anywhoo thats just me, let me know what you think!:bigjoint:

I don't think stacking fans is going to do much. I would put more in the exhaust...this should help with the temp too. That would be another reason train the plants sideways.
Intake > plants > desk fan between plants and lights > lights > exhaust. I would be interesting to see if you could set this up like a regular grow and then just lay it on its back somehow

ok i have been looking into leds, the ufos are nice, but because of the height issue it wont work, because they dont spread out it wont be able to cover the whole length of the box
so i was looking at led boards,
i have looked for ages and cant seem to figure out what to get
there are 15w boards with 225 leds,
or i could use others, but this is suppose to be the cheapest grow ever, i mean i used wood from the street :D
do u think that a few 15 w boards stuck to the lid would be good enough?
maybe 3?
or do i need to use higher wattages?
thanks

Are you planning to flower in these containers? I am assuming you are since you mentioned bud growth. If so, those crappy china panels aren't going to do it for you. Even in vegetation you will see a lot of stretching with those cheaper panels, where as higher wattage (and quality made) LED fixtures can create nice, short nodes which will lead to denser budding (if I'm not mistaken).

The man who said LED's would have to be some absurd height above the plants must have one hell of an LED panel.. because I am highly inclined to disagree and say that depending on wattage and age of the plant you're going to want to have it within 1-6 inches of the plants. LED's are a very interesting technology and can be highly effective in the right environment with the right array of lights but if you want cheapest, yet effective, grow.. forget about them for a few years.. stick with cfl.
