Is there anything wrong with a bigger column, like up to 3x 18 on an open blast?

I have valves to do a soak, It seems easier to do a 3 inch column twice than a bunch of 1.5 columns.

Certainly easier if that is the only objective. I prefer to not soak, because it picks up higher levels of C-30 molecules.

is that mold? Not only easier but safer, I feel naked when running and if I could get it all done at once then its better.

I dunno that compund you mentioned but it sounds like botyritis? Maybe i should do initial runs through a 1.5 column and then soak it ?

The essential oil that we are extracting contains molecules ranging in length from about C-10 (carbon atoms) to C-30. The C-30 sized molecules include chlorophyll, anthro cyanin plant pigments, and plant waxes, all of which are undesirable in an extract.

Thanks Fade, since im about to upgrade can you help me out and give me a link to some good info on a 2017 closed loop system? im incompetent searching and come up with your old system. I may just stop spraying out into the air and buy a can for the bottom and make a passive system, or ill buy components which still be upgradeable in the future. I already have a 1.5 inch closed column that I do a 4 minute soak on.

Im doing daily research, my system was closed column, not open. So far its a 3 inch dewax column and couple of filters and a reducer that mates up to my valves. Im probably adding a 10 inch base with a lid for valves to a tank and run a passive system. if you start with a full tank can you distill without a secondary container?

I would suggest checking out Terpp Extractors or BVV for the base unit.
To distill, you need a clean receiving tank and a pot/trap to inject raw butane into and distill refined butane out of.
