Hey There!! :blsmoke:

I've seen an influx of new ppl coming in with plant problems, without much knowledge your babies will struggle. Of course in most cases you can cure the ailment by seeking help with us
here at R.I.U.. We love helping, some of us even spend most of our days on here, so I decided to make this thread. First off this is a thread that is going to be fun and educational, I do not
want any kind of negative hurtful things said to people in here like we see in the other threads/forums. We will respect one anothers points, views, thoughts and beliefs (and spelling
:-o )

With being said lets move on
:leaf:

We are gonna grow a virtual marijuana plant, each day will bring a new topic and a new step/stage of the plants life. There will be problems along the way and surprises, its up to you
guys to diagnose and assess each situation. Some conditions will just be read by text and some will have visuals. Reputation and recognition will be awarded to correct diagnosis, cure,
problem assessment and procedure to handle the situation. As well as self satisfaction and knowledge gained in the process.

I think to myself "If i could go anywhere in the world to grow, where would I go? And why?"

A sub tropical climate because all strains will flower well during the right growing season.

Or indoors because you can control the climate and the photoperiod.

Somewhere cool all year round to keep everything stable.

No changing fans and intake positions to suit the season.

Just setup test and grow grow grow.

Definitely agree about a tropical/sub tropical climate. Seems to be the best in the milder months for weather/light conditions

We should choose either a pure sativa or a sativa leaning hybrid. I believe this because they have long flowering times and Hawaii would induce flowering much faster, allowing for a quicker harvest. I also believe this because of their taller and lankier nature, they would be able to reach a good and decent size before they started flowering.

If we chose to do an indica or and indica hybrid, we'd have to veg it inside first to bulk it up a bit, it would flower too fast if grown immediately outdoors.

Tropical/subtropical photo period is pretty close to 12/12.

Awesome, I was born in Hawaii...lets do this thing! Hawaii IS a great place I would think...fertile land, temps stay the same year round, always a nice breeze, great scenery. Perfect place to be high.

I'm not super familiar with the individual strains, but I'm thinking we have to find something that does well with a LOT of sun but can handle the rainfall that the mountains of maui can get sometimes, temps in the mid 70s-mid 80s, a strain the prospers well outdoors...anxious to see what else I need to know!

Jillybean!! It's a TGA strain. It's heritage is Orange Velvet x Romulan x Cindy99. It is sativa and would do very well in the almost constant 11hours+ days. It is also a great yeilder and gives you an up / aphrodisiac high! And who doesn't love sex on the beach?!

I agree with Jillybean, also since I am very new to the strains and would be at a loss... though I would love to see other contenders as well.

So far Jillybean is sounding good i've read about the strain a long time ago and was always interested.

Classification: Mostly Sativa
Growing Environment: Indoor/Outdoor
Flowering Time: 8 - 10 weeks
Accolades: High Times Top 10 in 2007. Featured strain in The Big Book of Buds
THC Range: High
Medical Uses: Depression, anxiety, migraines
Breeder: Subcool
Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: Overwhelming citrusy taste maybe reminiscent of tangerines or oranges. Smooth with danky and fruity undertones on exhale. Notable sativa effects but with a mellow medicated experience.
The genetic makeup of Jilly Bean are all you need to know to realize that this strain is no joke. Preceded by Orange velvet, Cinderella 99, and the hard-hitting Romulan, this strain provides an uplifting sativa high, while still managing to give the patient a mellow, laid-back experience. This makes is ideal for use any time of day, but it is generally preferred in the daytime.
When growing, Jilly Bean is relatively short compared to most Sativas. It has leaves that, when the plant is maturing, turn dark blue or purple on the edges. It requires little topping or maintenance which makes it a favorite for all-types of growers. This strain smells sour and fruity when maturing.
Renowned for it's flavor and trance-like effects, Jilly Bean is widely regarded as one of the top strains in the cannabis world today

.
I've talked with the kind ppl at TGA seeds and they were nice enough to send me a pic of their beautiful strain while ordering the seed. We're on our way guys, lets go see if we can find a luau and celebrate. Tomorrow we will be choosing what type of medium and nutrients we will be using. Till then eat some kalua pig, maybe a little poi and lots of drinks with the little umbrellas in it
