yea cfls will work for flowering. there must b more 2700k bulbs then 6500k bulbs. and how many u should use depends on your plants and setup.. would need a pic or something to help there.. but cfls (compact flouro lamp) will work pretty good for flowering. not as good as a hps or something like that, but with the money saved on power and not worrying as much bout heat really makes them a good light to use. deffinatly will get you a respectable yeild

You guys apparently didn't look at the link he gave.

50/50 is perfect for freshwater and saltwater aquariums: 50% 10,000K Daylight and 50% Actinic 03 Blue

That's some shit I've never seen before, 10,000K of blue spectrum? Sounds pretty kickass, however, I know nothing about these particular bulbs and at 20watts, you'd need a lot of them. These bulbs would be vegging only I would assume. :weed:

[EDIT]: You might want to check out the CFL threads located here: https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/

i always use 1000 hps but last yearwhen we moved we budded everything we had going on so we tried a t5 8 tube to flower plants and they worked BUT they were have the size of the 1000s or less and not even close to the density .

..........t5s work great for clones and little ones but then i use a 600 on a mover for veg a 1000 on mover for my mothers....spectrume corrected . and 1000s on movers for flowering ....

dont have to look at the link to know that hps will outgrow cfl's any day especially wit a dual spectrum bulb... so no in did not check the link and my advice remains the same bro.. take the time to save the cash and get yourself a digital ballast quantum sells a 1000 watt dimmable ballast ( can b run at 500 watts 750 watts or 1000 ) for 350 bucks.. invest the money and you will not regret it

The baseline, is to make sure you use at least 3500 lumens per square foot. And remember, if you're not using a reflector, you're not getting 3500 lumens out of a 3500 lumen bulb.(more like 50%, if mounted directly above the plant)

And as always, keep it close to 3000K for bloom, and 6500K for veg. :)

Yeah you're right about HPS>CFL, no doubt about it. However, I will say that for people who don't have the funds for the HID system itself, let alone the ventilation requirements (dryer hoses/inline fan/etc.), CFL's are a great alternative. It's possible to grow some really dank buds with CFL's.

right but by getting the dimmable bro u get three lights in one.. otherwise u will kick yourself down the road when u upgrade.. and 1000 watts on a couple plants is ok no need for a farm.. shit i had 2000 watts on 45 plants last time and pulled 3.5 lbs
