I just bought some lights for my new hydro drip system, some cool white and warm white cfl's (45w-120w) I have plenty but I was wondering what I need to start out with. I just got back from the FAQ but my question wasnt covered. I know i need the cool white for veg and warm for bud, but is it recommended to use some warms with the cools or just use the same with each other??? Id like to have every light beaming on it 24/7, but if i only should use the cools for veg, then please somebody let me know.

Also, i bought AN SENSI nutes for blooming. Im only going to veg for the first 20 inches or so (due to room height) then switch to flower, so i dunno what to get for that short period of vegging. I have some red bat guano and a bottle of SuperThrive. When and how can i use these ferts/additives??? Has anyone used any of these products? I have so many questions but it seems they rarely get any posts when i thread them. Please help me with ANY info about growing hydro!!! I dont even know how Im supossed to water my rock wool cube while the seed is sprouting. Is correct ph tap water okay??? PLEASE POST EVERYONE!!!

During your Veg cycle...you need to get 6500K Daylight cfl's...and for flowering you need 2700K Warm white cfl's. During your Veg cycle...adding a few of the cool whites(4100K) or the warm whites(2700K) will actually do alot of good. So if your going to have a 7 light setup...go with 5 6500K bulbs and 2 cool white or 2 warm white cfl's...it gives a more broad spectrum...but make sure that you are concentrating on the blue end of things for veg...and the red end of the spectrum for flowering. When you flower just reverse the light setup...5 2700K cfl's and 2 4100K or 6500K cfl's.

If your looking to keep your plants small...top them...that way you'll get shorter bushier plants that will give a better yield. By topping your plant you can let it get to full maturity (showing preflowers) and not worry about it getting 4 or 5 feet tall when you go into flowering.

Thanks a BUNCH, that REALLY summed up the whole problem of lighting I had, THANKS THANKS THANKS!!!! And about topping, ive heard of this from so many friends but looking at pictures it seemed if i topped the plant, im cutting a majority of the budding off... i suposse you recommend this because in the long run its the best move... so now my question is about where should i make the cut and how long should i let the plant go before topping it? I have a 4 pot set up but im gonna start with just using 2 pots and use the other two for cloning... would it be possible or a good thing to maybe take that top and use as a clone? Or is that just the most ridiculous thing to do. I just have a problem with wasting anything, hell when im loadin a bowl i make sure i have every last little flake in it, none to brush away.

Your welcome. When you top a plant your not taking anything away from it...infact your creating more. When you top a plant it starts to grow 2 or more main cola's instead of 1. A good time to top a plant is when it has about 7-8 nodes on it. When you top your plant you want to top it right below the new "bud" growth (meaning leaf)and just above the old set of leaves.

No you can't "clone" the top of your plant. You use side branches for that.

you can bend it
its called lst or low stress training
you just carfully bend and tie your plant down
this will redirect growth hormones so the top of the plant grows less and the bottom branches form tops of there own
it will keep your plants small and they will produce 3-8 colas
