Concern with sun baking super soil!

I was wondering what concerns i should have about insect infestation when sunbaking the super soil. I live in Northern Cali outside SF and we dont have a insect problem the way they do in other states but still there are some: spiders, earwigs, gnats. Should i rig up a custom silk screen lid for a trash can or something? I go out of my way to be sanitary and sterile in regards to my indoor soil grow so im just tryin to keep the girls safe.

If its for indoors sounds like a good idea.
But youll kill all the beniacial microbes in the soil.
Check into how to develop them.

I use MG soil an its sterile, so to develop benifacial microbes I ...
add Compost (cow manure for me about 15% of my soil) to start em in the soil. There are products for this also at hydo stores.
Then I add the Humic acid. As directed.
Let it sit for awhile befor using it. A month or 2.

Just keep it covered Not sealed but covered you should be fine. But what ive heard is watch out for Cats because they will try to piss in your shit.....
