Confused Flowering Plants

I have several very large (eg over 5 ft), plants which have been flowering at 12/12 for almost 2 months. They still are clear, with only a few showing milky/yellowing here & there. Well, lst night, they grew about 4-5" of new, vegitative-looking stalks out the tops of the flowering buds. What's real strange is that on the stalks, the leaves have like only one big leaf, not the traditional 5 or more. I also can't understand why they are not mature yet (I mean the flowers), and that they seem to be trying to revert genetically into some other sort of plant with "non-marijuana looking" leaves??? I fear I will lose this whole crop if I can't figure this out.

Should I just cut off the tops with the strange stems/leaves?

ALso- lighting is strick 12/12, no disturbing, I am using two General Electric 1000 Watt HPS lamps in Harvest-Pro reflectorized hoods. Room is totally Mylar'ed out, and is about 12ft by 8ft. Temps are around 80 +/- tiny bit. Humidity at about 40% during flowering. Plants are allowed to just slightly wilt prior to next watering. NO ferts now since flowering SHOULD be almost over.

WHAT IS GOING ON W/THESE WEIRD NEW SPROUTS OUT THE BUD TOPS??? PLEASE HELP- THIS IS A BIG CROP

those plants look on the sativa side of things and may require another month or 2 as they look nowhere close 2 being done for the singe leaves, not shure :leaf:
