Convert MH to HPS?

Hi guys. Now i researched this, but havn't found a definitive answer. I acquired a 1000w MH ballast today, with a horizontal hood and bulb. I would like to convert the ballast to HPS, and know its possible, but i'm not exactly sure how to? Now please don't tell me to get a conversion bulb, because i'm not interested in that, I want to convert the ballast so i can use a normal HPS bulb. I have three new switchable 1000 watters, and im sure i could convert this one to be switchable as well, but have no need to use the MH....

Can someone please tell me what needs to be added (or taken out of) the ballast to convert it?

yeah, i seen that thread, thing is, it doesnt really go too much into detail, as there is no schematic, and one guy there says its not a good idea to convert one.... im wondering if all i need to do is wire an ignitor into the MH ballast and its good to go?

If you're that unsure, don't do it.

Call the manufacturer of the ballast and ask them if it can be done?
