Convincing the better half

So I'm moving out of my folks place soon and into a rented house in Michigan (which has no leanient laws toward pot) with my girlfriend. We have been together three years and since we have talked about moving out together I have always wanted to grow when we do this and I made that clear to her. She is very worried about getting caught. What I want to do is get a house with a basenment and grow down there using the "I Grow Green" video as a guidline. I have told her that in the begining I only want to grow; one mother, one clone and have one flowering. Which would create a good cycle so that I only have 3-5 plants at any one time. Which would only really be enough for us to smoke, if I were to flower three or more plants at a time then I would be able to sell but even then I wouldn't be selling much, maybe an ounce or 2. We are both very concerned about getting caught and are worried with a rented home about the renter just popping in and seeing the grow op. I have pretty much come to terms that until I own my own home I will not be able to grow. So my questions are;

Should I take the risk renting a home and growing?
What can I tell my girl to get her to be cool with me growing?

if its not legal then whats the dif. between 1 or 12, or more

because more plants the more time your do. I've been growing in a rented place for 3 years and haven't had a problem yet. I grow six plants under 400 watts now but I have had as many as 30 in a SOG grow here. As long a you don't tell ANYONE you shouldn't have any problems, but growing in these times of prohibition there is a risk and you have to accept the risk in order to rep the benifits

I used to have a hobby 'fireworks', so when I dropped out of that and into 'gardening', she was elated.
