Cooltube or Easytube.. Which one for a 400w bulb.

This may have been discussed before, but would like everyones thoughts. I'd like to cool the bulb during the warmer months, but run it open during the colder months.

How close can I get the light to the plants? How much will the cooling help keep the temps down?? Meaning how much increase should I expect from a cooled down 400w light?

Thanks...

Here is what I did I went out and got some cool tube lighting wit the inline fan connected with dryer vent hose. Where I'm at it gets a little cold this time of the year I have a 220 volt heater in the house that cost me $200.00 per month. So I said to myself why waist all that heat from the grow room. So I bought a floor register from Home Depot and cut it into the floor in the kitchen. Down stairs I connected my dryer vent hose to the register and BAM 2 birds with 1 stone. Now it doesn't heat the house but it takes the chill off. I may need some more lighting to do that.

I'm running an attic grow so I have to deal with the wild temps outside my grow boxes that I built. Im using cfl's right now but want to upgrade to HPS. I've got a handle on the temps inside the boxes using the house ac/heat. My worry is heat in the summer and im pretty sure I can keep the flower box (4x5x6) cool with an hps thats being cooled. What im going to do is run a line from my downstairs unit (house has 2, one for each level ) into the veg box (5x2x4). The flower bix will have a line running from the upstairs unit. I've already made it thru both summer and winter with no bad side affects, but not with a hps. But I should be fine ;)
