Around early Nov. It's a really good place to grow. I live in the Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin tristate area, and I don't think there is a better place to grow. I haven't had to water once this year, and the soil can't get much better. I will probably have to water this week, but thats about the only time this season I have needed to.
That depends on what the farmer is growing for....food or feedwhen is corn generally harvested in the northern US?

Yupfood is earlier then feed?
Hydroponics?I used to live up north in southeast Ohio. It was great soil for hydroponic patches, we were growing it all over the place.
Try cracking open a peice of corn. If its white or yellow, its for food. If its multi-colored its feed. Usually farmers leave the feed corn until it has dried outside to harvest it, as it usually goes into the silo for storage- which should give you plenty of time. If its food though, you might be in trouble.
