Crazy light cycle question...

Hey guys,
I was talking to my friend about my temps (not what this is about) and he said instead of the conventional lights on 18/6 (or 12/12-flower). To try 4/2 (or 3/3-flower) on intervals thru out the day. Has anyone ever hears if such a thing? Any merit to this? I thought plants need continual dark and light..? Sounds crazy.. But I'm interested. Thoughts

The short answer is NO. Absolutely not if you value the sexual integrity of your females. The longer answer is probably and this is why: During the flower cycle so long as you keep the lights on during the same time frame, ie: 8pm to 8am then you should not have a problem even if the lights are on 3/3 during that time. A solid night period without interruptions is what is important for flowering (the length of the night cycle and not the day cycle.) Now, with veg you could probably get away with the intervals as such. GL :peace:
