the plants suffered some nearly fatal shock(the young and tender) from the cold (I won't go into details)...anyway, some of the tetra took to growing one or 2 leaflets directly on top of the usual leaflets like a second layer. unfortunately I'm banned from the boss' camera due to paranoia. anyway...the leaflets are the size of the last 2 (smallest)leaflets next to the stem. the tetra should be renamed"fat bastard coffee", because in the words of austin powers "it's a bit nut-ty."...actually its a lot more than a 'bit' nutty...it's a frickin' roasted chestnut! clones like a dream, and refuses to herm under any circumstances! it just gets a little (o.k. a lot!) freaky. it's not what I'd call top shelf though. but it's just too cool botanically to ditch. unfortunately the mother takes up way too much space. she's been through the ringer 3 times as far as shock goes, and is about to see her 1st. b-day. and now she just shits clones and laughs off major abuse.I'm waitin' on some white tetra seeds here in a week or so...we'll see how that goes...the widow male should add some firepower...though they may not be as hardy.
