Creating a humid environment

Can someone tell me if this is a good idea. I've got one tiny seedling and a few other seeds in a cup that haven't broken the surface yet. I've heard you are supposed to keep the humidity up. Since I don't have a humidity dome, I gave each container a spray of water, then put some suran wrap tightly over the top of each container. I poked about 3-4 holes in each for oxygen. Should this create a better environment for seedlings that have just broken the surface and germinated seeds that are about to? Thanks.

Thanks, I'm just trying to do the best I can with what I've got. How long do growers usually try to keep this high humidity environment? At what stage should the seran wrap (or however you spell it) come off?
