Critical Haze x Haze Smoke report

Hi all

Been a while since i done one of these, it also has been a while since i have come across something i havent bred nor grown myself which tickled my fancy.
This is from an autocultivation club grown in soil with organic bottled nutrients, i was told. Its a cross of Mr Nice critical haze with a local haze. Though to be honest im begging to doubt the genetics and think its straight up mr nices critical haze.... but proceeding...

In terms of appearance there are no hints of haze bud structure apart from thin leaves. Also fairly dense critical like buds really. Not the best resin production by far and not many pistyls either. Standard tone of green. 6/10

The smell is subtle but extremely special. Undertones of cinamon distant from the nose (like when theres a jar of it 1 foot away from you, not nose in it type deal) and dried aromatic herbs. The body of the smell is composed of the standard critical background with just ever so slightly floral hints. Complex smell though not intense also when ground up the critical overpowers the scent. the best way to describe the overall smell is like a posh herbal flower soap really. 7-7.5/10

The taste is extremely subtle kind of like critical, critical has loads of scent and none on flavour in comparission. Similar with this strain. Its pleasant, there just isnt much of it there to be honest. Pretty sure some kind of flowering PK boost was used. It tastes like something has killed the flavour. 6/10

The high is where this sitrain earns its points. Head rush is felt upon a bong hit. Multi factorial high too. Begins with a sativaish buzz that wears off to a nice indica relax. Slightly stupifying and fun as well as a tad exciting. Seems like great weed to do fun things on, might make you have a bit of a laugh. A refined effect for sure that lasts a while too. Pretty social. 8.5/10

Im pretty sure I could grow this strain better and im now seriously sure this wasnt back crossed with haze, or if it was they kept an extremely dominant critical phenotype. I definetly think i could make it taste more. Still not too disapointing like i find most club weed nowadays. It was only 4 euro a gram too, definetly good quality price ratio. I give it an overall of 7/10

Actually Kali mist could make a better hybrid even i think. Even jack the ripper woul create and interesting cross i think. I dont ike critical anymore unless its the bilbo cut. Great strain to cross with though.

Nice report K-Lite- I'm still searching for that "special haze". Closest I've gotten to "The One" was a BCSC NL#5 x Haze#1 I grew about 15 yrs ago. Those were some superior genetics, and everyone raved about the taste and high for months after it was gone. I've been unable to find anything that comes close these days. I may go against better judgement and get a 5-pack of Green House Super Lemon Haze beans. I've heard about germination issues with GHS, but it Seems everyone is happy with their results on this strain.

SLH is really good but in my experience it's a little more hybridish. Some phenotypes have a pretty harsh burnout after a nice uplifting buzz. I highly encourage running through those seeds, as there are probably some that don't have that burnout which is something I think most people do not associate with sativas. Smoked some really awesome SLH though, make no mistake. I have a couple packs myself for future use.

Check out Sugar Punch by Sannie, it's better. A lot of variation as it's a polyhybrid, but every plant I got was either good or some of the best I ever had (I had 'the one' in high school, skunk haze I'm quite sure.... bright green happy weed - totally amazing).

Silverfields is equally impressive in my experience as well. Some variation there too.

Sweet Skunk is a highly IBL line from PeakseedsBC which is also incredible. The thing about it is, it was bred to be crossed to something specific. So it has some uniform traits that are not totally desirable by themselves including quite a bit of stem relative flower. Lacking a bit in vigor, although the plants can still yield just fine. Very low odor. But it's right there with Sugar Punch/Silverfields.

Also hear nothing but great things about Sannies Jack Herer. I have 6 packs incoming.

Tom Hill's Haze gets good reviews as a pure Haze but requires a lot of selection. He estimates 5% are probably equivalent to what you're describing. I haven't taken that plunge yet but I also have a couple packs.

SF/SP are sweeter/pungent smelling.

I have a phenotype of Black Widow that is really sativa dominant, I'm not sure if it's rare but it's really awesome too. Very uplifting, smile inducing. Induces heavy anxiety in some people, but I don't have that problem. It grows pretty bushy naturally with no real apical dominance. Buds fucking everywhere on it. Top of the stick to the bottom. Really great plant that I am glad to have found. That said, I ran 20 seeds to find it and most of the phenos I found were much more hybrid or indica leaning. I am going to be running it again soon as it yields insane quantities and I really love this stuff during the day. Not very trippy at all, but that's what the SF/SP are for :).

I heard Kannabia's Afrodite (Jack flash x Hawaiian sativa) is a good daytime strain also. Mandala Seed's Satori (judging by their description) looks like everything i want in a sativa. Decisions decisions.. Thanks again for the info bro, - hilarious Avatar btw, Hahahaha
