Ok i have yet to have the material to do this but my question still remains. How much plant matter (not buds) do you use in a VERY GOOD batch of brownies?

Mmm...this is a really tough question to answer because of the variables. But because I know you want something to go by: If you want to get hiiiiigh, 1-2 plant trim/resiny leaves per 2 sticks of butter, depending on the size of the plant and the amount of resin.
