Would it be beneficial to cut off the old bottom stems that look like they arent going to produce much of anything, during later weeks into flowering?

i prune off the bottom third by the 3rd week of flower....

if you are pass that point then you can still take them off but the plant has already invested too much energies into them to waste IMO....

clones from flowering plants need to be reverted IME if taken past week 2..... not my favorite thing to do....

forget it, its too late. let the buds finish
next time try pruning off the bottom third by week 3 and watch the tops get bigger (becasue the plant won;t be wasting energy on sucker buds).
