Cutting it down

Hey everyone, i had a question, is it possible that smaller plants (12 - 16 inches) in the flowering cycle could be maturing faster than larger plants (3-5 ft.)? I believe my plant is about 5 weeks into flower about 75% of pistils are still white while others are browning out, while the trichomes on and below the cola kinda look amber ( w/out magnifing lense) The strain is a bubblegum x widow hybrid i believe and i started from seed with cfl's. Any help on when to harvest would be excellent and any tips as far as drying this shit out! lata

You can not see the ture color of the trichomes without magnification.I thought I could see the color too but after I got a 30x100 mic from radioshack you will see the ture color. Now I use it all the time too know when to harvest. The microscope cost about $10.00 from radioshack. It'll open a whole new world in your grow. Peace
