Daylight savings time is starting soon, what can I do?

My plant was grown indoors during veg and then I put it outside a little over a week ago to start it on 12/12. But I just realized daylight savings time starts March 9th.

What can I do? What's going to happen to the plant? Will it revert back to veg state or what? I can't bring it back inside because it's too big now.

I'm confused about what that has to do with Daylight savings time...you just mean the fact that the days are getting longer?? If that's what you mean, then I think they'll be fine. Assuming they finish before the days get too long (like 14+ hours of light), I don't see any issue. So yea, if they're still outside in May or June, then your plants gonna be reaaal confused and probably not happy. But through march ought to be fine.

Just calculate when the plant should be done (if the breeder says it takes 10 weeks of flowering, then it's APPROXIMATELY 9 weeks from now). Then plug that date into a sunrise/sunrise calculator (google it- easy to find) and find out how long the days will be at that point.

No...right now we get 12/12 outside, but starting March 9th the time will turn from 12/12 to longer days. Just about the time that happens my plants will be 1 1/2 months into flowering.

As far as I know it has nothing to do with DST- that's just an arbitrary concept made to make the sun match our clocks more evenly throughout the year. The real changes occur on the winter and summer solstices (Dec. 22 and June 22 respectively, I believe). So technically, your days have been getting longer since Christmas. Around March 22 (Vernal equinox) is the time when the rate of change is HIGHEST.

As for your plants, they'll be fine. Yes, the days are getting longer, but until they get above 14 hours of light, it's not an issue. And that's a very approximate number; I have no idea what the number actually is, and I assume it varies somewhat by strain.

haha are you high right now, by any chance? that probably wouldn't help your understanding.

Google it, man. It all has to do with where the sun is in relation to you, and whether it's going away from you or towards you.

I'm confused because people are talking as if it's a gradual thing, unless I have gone totally batshit crazy, it happens over night. One day there is 12 hours of light and the next it moves up to like 15 hours of light...

day light savings time outdoors. i pulled this one last year. hahhahahahhahahahahhaha

You have officially gone totally batshit crazy then. It definitely does not happen over night. That would mean one day its bright out from 7 AM - 4 PM (those shitty December days) and then you wake up the next day and its bright out from like 5 AM - 9 PM...it doesn't work that way, man, and thank god for that. That would be fucked up.

lol

I wasn't actually doing anything on the computer...that chick was my desktop wallpaper. The only reason that picture was ever taken was because my roommate had just got a new camera and was going around the house taking pictures of everything.

If the days get too long just put the plant inside a closet or dark place after its had 12 hours of light......

and just because we change the clocks doesnt mean the sun stays out 2 hours longer .
