Dealing With Power Outages

Ok so i have a problem.

Today i had a power outage for about 2 minutes, these are quite common where i am, maybe once a month. Obviously this leads to hot strikes of my lamp. I looked at one of the UPS products but they're seriously expensive.

So i thought maybe instead there is a product which, if it senses a power outage will trip and cut off the power to the ballast. That way when the power comes back online the lamp won't receive any power and be protected.

I looked at a few circuit breakers but they're just for power surges and things like that. Can anyone name a good product?

That is definitely the kind of thing i'm after, however it's too expensive, i was raelly hoping there was something cheaper than that because a UPS is around the same price.
