Debating changing to HPS

I growing using CFLS right now and i found a pretty good deal on a 600w POOT light. im havign a few concerns however.

is what i hear about UK power companies sending cops to houses where high wattage is drawn on a timer e.g 12/12 also is heat output so bad for just one light they could see it with infrared heli-cams ?

Vent your heat under your house...and I want a HPS too, my LED and cfls just aint cuttin it...I want to get the most out of my grows. Watch Barry Coopers never get raided videos on utube for more ways to not get busted. Good luck and keep it green!

If you pay your bills, you will never get any probs from your power company, there are a lot biger grows going on than just 600watt's with no prob's.
And you will give off little heat with just 1 light, no more than an tumble dryer, just vent it out of a window.

your grow is going to be lost among space heaters, furnaces, fireplaces,etc for heat and just about any appliance for electricity. you have a lot more to worry about from your neighbors, friends and ex's than you ever have from running a light. try 4 1000 watt lights and somebody might notice but you are safe.

Yeah, you really have nothing to worry about as far as heat and power consumption being too high just using one 600 Watt HPS. Switching to a 600W HPS is not going to put you in anymore danger than you are in right now. The only difference is you will get bigger and denser bud.

I love my 600's. Best part of the new Lumetek ones is they are dimmable. You can use 360, 400, 600 watts and then there is a high output setting also.

the differences between the hps and cfl's will really blow your mind.. dont get me wrong, i have seen some really nice cfl grows on here, but for the most part, you will never get the same results from cfl's as you will from an hps.. and i agree with everyone else.. six hundred watts isn't enough to draw attention to yourself.. just pay the bills on time every month and you should be cool..

im in the uk aswell, rule number 1 is just dont let the whole town or village know you are growin and you wont have to worry.

ive nearly finished my 2nd which was done with a 250w hps and im now switching back to cfl's as all i want is enough weed so i dont have to buy any. with a 600w hps you must be aiming for a lot of weed

it all comes down to how much weed you want, cfl's can and do grow just the same quality stuff as a hps just on a smaller scale

check out CHB's thread on here he yield'd 3.15 dry ounces of 1 plant with about 300w of cfl's!!!
