I'm in a world of oil here...could someone explain decarbing in laymans terms???

and any recommended teks for Iso extractions...

i think 250 at 25-30 minutes is what most do.

THC and CBD are produced in their carboxylic acid forms in the plant and THCA does not readily pass the blood brain barrier, so it is minimally psychoactive. That is not an issue smoking or vaporizing THCA, because the act of heating it causes it to lose a carbon, two oxygen, and a hydrogen atom, in the form of CO2 and H2O. This changes the polar THCA to non polar THC, by eliminating the COOH group, that makes it an acid.

At the same time that heating changes THCA to THC, it also changes THC to CBN. Depending on the time and temperature that you use for decarboxylation, the rate of THC converted to CBN can equal or exceed the rate that THCA is converted to THC.

Attached is a graph compliments of Jump, showing the relationship of different time and temperature curves to total THC:

I put my cannabis oil in a 250F Canola oil bath and watch the CO2 bubble production to tell precisely when the bubble production suddenly drops off at the top of the 70% curve, which is where maximum THC is preserved.

just so it is spread out evenly and thinly yes any amount...CAUTION do not vary any from the time....30 seconds either way can screw you

yep...I kinda follow his method...I prefer to chop my bud up more and freeze everything for 2 days min before doin' a run...all my mixes are left in the freezer for about 20 mins with a shake at 10 mins...then thru those dammed slow filters...as long as it is kept cold the clorophyl is still in the bud and not in the oil...then I use an electric wok to evaporate the ISO off....once its rendered down , I add a bit of water and watch it carefully...then its cooled, scraped up on a razor blade and transfered into a small pyrex bowl...set it on the coffe heater for a couple days and it is pretty slick stuff...just never understood the decarb thing...guess thats for tomorrow or next day....fuckin' flu has my ass right now....ugggg
