Dehumidifier

So my tent is in my basement which is super humid but I don't want to put the dehumidifier inside because it'll heat it up. Is it possible to rig it to a duct hole other than my passive intake hole?
 
I run a AC and dehuey outside of my tent next to each other and lower the surrounding temp and humidity. Which is being sucked in by my passive intake. Turn up your outtake fan some and use a bigger passive intake or multiple intakes if you need to.
 
I read somewhere that the dehues with compressors built in create a little less heat than rotary ones. But I didn't know the heat is actually the new air
 
For that small of a tent I couldn't imagine that a 70 pint wouldn't work. A lot of people use them to keep basements less humid anyways and your not adding that much more moisture with a tent.
 
I guess my main question should be, is there any way around the added heat that comes from dehumidifier inside the tent without installing an ac?

The meter on the exhaust is to check the RH level of the hot air exiting the dehuey. Not all dehueys are created equal. Some may produce more heat than others - for the same level of RH reduction.

Heat is created when compressors run to remove humidity from the air.
The harder the dehuey works - the more heat.
So, if you start with lower RH, the dehuey will run less and create less heat.
Lots of venting = more work for mr. dehuey.

Makes sense. I'll keep that in mind when running it
 
I run a dehumidifier outside of the tent and a portable (not window) AC in the tent.

My spot is 40x60 and the dehumidifier is outclassed (full power all time), but it keeps things in the 60% RH range, summer room temps at 85+.

My tent is 5x5. The AC is 6500 BTU. Inside the tent I am solid at 73 degrees F and 50% RH. The portable AC I have came with exhaust ducting, so I just shoot all the heat outside the tent.

Send a link to the ac you got. Summers pretty much ending and ill be using space heaters for the winter if needed but I'll definitely need that portable ac next summer. My dehu just came in today i let it sit for a few hours, im about to power it up when I get back in the house
