Dense Main Cola - Dark on the outside, light on the inside

Hi all,

Been cruising these forums for a while, usually find my answer right away but here we are with my brand new account.

So, the plant on topic is one of the last ladies from our first ever run. We've learned so much along the way as far as Ph balancing, nutrients, light intensity, etc. We are pretty sure we gave this girl some Nitrogen poising based off of what we read (Dark green coloration, burnt tips), but we're just letting her ride it out to see how much we can get. It's worth noting that we are growing all of our plants using seeds from buds we've accrued over the years, so we aren't sure about the strain.

Nevertheless, we're probably on week 10 of flowering for this girl. No signs on nanners or anything of the sort. We think she got delayed due to the stress causes by the nutrients. We've started to see some great progress in the past weeks, buds filling out nicely. Before it was mostly just hairs everywhere. Upon inspection of the plant, we noticed the inside of one of the bud sights that is right below the coil has a very bright green coloration when we peeled it back. I was wondering if this was normal because it is not exposed to light, or if this is something to be concerned about.

TL;DR: Why is the inside of my nugget bright green compared to the dark exterior?

Let me know if you need more info. Thanks!

Thanks for the warm welcome and advice! It's been sooooooo many weeks of commitment at this point (This one is on week 11 of flower) , just wanted to make sure!

Perfectly normal. Nice plant and a few weeks still to go by the looks of it. Must be a sativa dominant of some sort.

Good luck

When you cut your cola, put the cut end in a glass of cola. This way cola gets drawn into the cola, leaving it cola-colored. Flavor is also likely to improve.
