Did I Top My Plant Right ?

To be honest I feel like I topped this plant a little too early. It was basically 1 month old. No less. And I think I topped at the 4th node. Let me know what you guys think. I think it will grow fine but my goal was to achieve 2 main colas.

The third pic is right before it was topped
How do you guys think it will grow from here ?

You’re going to be fine. Mine is above the 3rd node and I cleaned up everything below.
Nice looking plant man. Setup as well. Mind sharing me what you “ cleaned up “ on your plant. I felt like trimming off some of the leaves under the fan leaves since they’re in shade a lot. Would that be a good idea ?? Can you shed some light on that topic for me ?

Looks good to me. Basically what I do same time and size. I also too a second time. Time everything settles down you should have 6 main tops and I always top those six give it a few weeks then go into flower

Great crisp shot of removed top. I don't think you topped too early

I can't speak for @Ilovethelargemouth, but I remove/clean under 3, to focus grow energy on bud sites in max light, it simplifies watering and training, and for good air circulation over top of soil. Auto grower

Looks good.
I'd advise not taking off anything more in veg though.

Imo, don't touch it until week 3 of flower once your stretch is over. If done before you run the risk of stunting your plants and not seeing the growth you want. I used to defoliate a lot, but now just top in veg and thin the middle @ week 3 of flower.

Let them "build things up" before you go hacking away @ them.

My 2 cents.

Wow very nice. Advice taken

Good morning Kona,

quirk is spot on. I dip my X-acto knife in isopropyl alcohol for a few seconds before cutting nodes 1 & 2 off. I would discourage that with your plants.

.Smoke is spot on as well. Great pics by the way. I would only clean up the very bottom set of leaves. Nodes 1 & 2 show good potential for nice growth. I would gently tie back the big fan leaves to eliminate the shade. Otherwise they look happy and thriving. Good job.
