Difference between glass stem'n'cone and metal stem'n'cone?

Whats up guys...Just wondering what the difference is as im in Australia so the metal stem and cones are what you usually find in OZ. Been looking at some online stores and gonna buy the full glass.

Just wondering what the difference is between the glass and metal? All I see in America are the glass...Is it that they are smoother, easier to clean? I just dont know...
