Dimmable ballasts....

Just wondered if anybody did a test to see if a dimmable ballast says that it is producing 600 watts, is it really?? I have a 1000 watt ballast set to 60 percent and wondered if it really is producing 600 watts?? anybody?? Thanks.... before you ask,, I have another 600 watt ballast and lamp running right next to this one... I can cover a greater area with 2 600's, and if the 600 goes out, I can turn up the 1000 to 'cover' me...

Yours must be broken....i was playing with mine earlier and you could tell a difference. I'd run the super lumens setting if i didnt think it would burn the bulbs out too fast.

hmmm i only have a 400watter its one of those common style with the whole thing looking like a heat sink and real small with a comp fan in it...i should surely see a difference when i turn the knob then huh?!?...mine only has (its not in front of me) a dial that goes from 100percent to like 60 percent or something no super lumen setting..also its a dual mh or hps
