Discoloration on leaves

2013-03-11_20-53-01_543.2.jpgI recently started my second grow, decided to go hempy this go around. Currently on week 2 of the hempy cups. A few of my sproutlings are showing some discoloration on the leaves. I'm not sure if its mold, heat stress, or something else entirely. It has been there from the beginning. They were started in jiffy pellets. They get full strength Fox Farm nutes, and plain ph'd water. I have also flushed twice. They were getting the soil grow big for about the first week until i got the hydro in the mail. Is it safe to keep with the rest of the plants without worrying about spread? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Man I hate to tell ya, but that's a baby pot plant...lol..and baby pot plants don't like you to feed them, they will try to die, wait till they're brats at about 3-4 weeks when the ((cotyledon (yolk) for food/energy...little round leaves)) starts to wilt and then they will be hungry...good luck man

There are 3 things given to a seedling that will kill in excess...

NUTES, WATER and LIGHT....

From my point of view these are the very things in order that are common greenpea mistakes...
Noneone wouldn't take and feed an infant pizza and beer and then take them to the tanning salon..

Easy goes it, I use Black Gold potting soil exclusively(The one with the tomato on it) for my clones an by the time their roots take off I can see a hint of tip burning but it doesn't run it up the edge of the leafs. It is just right on the edge and once she is established in her cloth container filled with this soil then I place that cloth pot right into a larger one filled with super soil and I go a step further cause I am lazy and don't like to have to water....

Thus my passive hydro system with super soil..

Gotta say you are overfeeding you babies, full strenth nutes is too much for such a small plant, I'd go 1/4 to 1/2 strenth for a while 'till they are a bit bigger.

Thanks for all of your replies. I have been feeding plain water as well. Feed, feed, water. Been going along with the various guides I have seen floating around for hempy. I will back off on the nutes a bit. This is only my second grow. There is a bit of a learning curve, but luckily its not steep. Its not happening on all of the babies. Take a look at my journal and tell me what you think.

Most of the guides i have read say to hit em with strong nutes because they wont be getting it from the soil.

This is one of the other ones that seems to be doing much better under the same conditions.

So definately not mold and doesn't have to be removed before spreading? Thanks again for the responses.

Do you have a TDS meter?, if so you should go by ppm's it's a better control of your nutes, use this guide as a starting point.

PPM for Hanna Chart PPM

Seedlings, Early Sprouts ..100 to 250
Early Vegging ......................300 to 400
Full Vegetation ....................450 to 700
Early Blooming ...................750 to 950
Full Mature Blooms ...........1000 to 1600
