Distance from canopy 1000 watt? and bud loses smell while drying?

Hey I currently have my 1000 watts about 2 feet from canopy with air cooled hoods but it still seems like it may be too much light and heat. And yeah, my buds smell great but lose smell while drying is this because of the heat wave?

dont under stand. your lights r 2 feet away and your bud is drying with no smell.
please help me understand

Yeah; what? Too much light and heat? I've got an open generic wing with a 1000w bulb about 6 inches away from the canopy with a strong fan blowing air between the bulb and the canopy. I only have problems is when I don't catch a fast grower in time to keep it under the stream of air. Pics or it didn't happen.

im a little confused too. what im not confused about tho..is ur hood can get as close to the plants as possible without "cooking" them. use ur hand as a scale. if its too hot for ur hand, its to hot for ur plant. if u got good air flow through ur hoo, u shood have no problem droppin it closer. i run up to 4, 1000w er's and they stay cool to the touch and the plants will grow up to the glass and then go sideways across it when i reach my 9ft peak on raising the lights. simple terms...closer the better.
