1 used shop light box cut for a reflection hood
2 new plastic sockets
1 pine board
1 roll of mylar
6 used plastic flower pots
1 roll duck tape
1 used outdoor timer (6 outlets)
1 new box fan
4 new CFL's
2 new 6ft chains
handful of screws from left over fence project
2 new extension cords (used to power sockets)
1 book "buds for less"
6 bag seeds
half a dozen free paint stir sticks from home depot
1 roll of contractor plastic sheeting
1 used snow blower box
1 bag of MG potting mix
1 bag of perlite
Took the plastic sheeting and paint stir sticks and made a dark room by hanging the plastic up and used stir sticks to screw it up in a few places. Then made a wooden socket fixture and cut up the extension cords for wiring to power them. Took the timer for the outside X-mas lights to power it all in automatic.
Lined the walls with mylar, then cut up the snow blower box to make a mylar wrap to go around the home made light fixture. Then took the shop light box and cut it up because the shape of the box when cut right made a great hood for the lights, lined it with mylar and took paint sticks again and screwed the new hood to the light fixture and used duck tape on the ends of the stick's to hold up the ends of the hood. Placed the fan to move air. (large room with good airflow no intake or exhaust needed.
Took 6 used flower pots from my old ladies garden stuff and filled up with media & perlite as book says to do and added seeds and then watered. Now we have a nice DIY ghetto veg room.
Also used the snow blower box and other half of the wood for light fixture to build another space for flowering, almost the same only larger and with a new bathroom fan exhaust using a DIY carbon filter to hook to a bathroom exhaust vent to outside. Use the bathroom fan to intake fresh air into flower room. Lights are off so can't take photos now.
Most money is mylar & cfl's & media & plastic sheeting.
