do cops need a search warrant to randomly check my pockets?

they can call it a 'weapons pat down' and do it with or without your consent, then pull out anything that may seem suspicious, even if small (they could always say it felt like it was a knife or some other lie).

I think there, in the US, is something called the "Flat-Pat" Doctrine, or something along those lines, that stipulates a cop, when pat searching, cannot manipulate the objects inside a pocket or clothing, and if they do they must know exactly what they are going to find. So if it seemed like he was just fishing for an excuse to lay down his power hungry, limp-dick justice upon the civilians he is supposed to be protecting take him down like an over-thrown third-world government!!

Peace
