Do I have to vent a 150watt HPS?

I'm growing in my closet. It's a walk-in, but I've sectioned off an area 3X2X5 about.

I'm currently growing one plant, but plan on in the future growing two at a time.

I have 6 two-foot flouro tubes and 3 42watt CFLs for vegging. The plant (clone) is now approximately 10".

A small PC fan is blowing the air around in there.

Is a 150watt HPS too much? The temperature in there stays approximately 5 degrees warmer than the rest of the house with my current setup.

How long should I veg (height in inches) before I flower? I don't want a huge plant with a lot of wispy buds. What's the 150watt HPS capable of handling properly?

I would say some kind of ventilation. If heat is not a problem then you wont need much ventilation but some small ventilation would give it some fresh air. Is the part you sectioned off closed up good? I have seen a few grows on the forum with nice tight buds from a cheap $20 150hps light from econo light (4 plants max). 150 HPS would easily cover 2 plants with tight buds. I think the general rule of thumb for vegging height is that it will double in height from the veg height when you flower. So if you flower it at 12" your lookin at a little over 24" roughly in height before its ready. How much height do you have to work with?

1. no

2. veg based on your available space. with 5 ft and 7" each for pot and light that gives you about 3.5 ft of plant space. you'd want to veg 12" to 18" depending on strain and how much time you want to take.

3. 2 plants is good
