Do I need to flush??

So the title basically says it. I have been using Fox and Farm nutrients in my pro mix for 2 weeks now. I am on a feed water feed water schedule. Since I use plain water every other water Is it still necessary to flush every now and then. I plan on flushing two weeks before harvest but is flushing it necessary for my Vegetative and flower growth? And if it is necessary how often should I do it? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

No. Only flush if you have nute probelms, like burn or lockout. You don't have to flush at the end of the cycle either (last 2 weeks). Most people do, but it is still highly debatable whether it makes a difference.

Ok thanks for the advise.should i atleast stop using nutes the last couple weeks?

Yes, that last two weeks you flush and don't use nutes. On my non-nute feelings I use a molasses/water mix. When I flush at end, I flush until runoff is clear, then feed a dose of my water molasses mix, and use that for a week maybe 2 depending on the plant.

I cut-back... I don't flush.

The last watering I give my plant is pure water, but I'm not about to run 5 gallons of water through one plant... that's just fucking stupid.
Cut back? so do you start doing half strengh or something The last couple weeks?

I've heard a lot of people say stuff about using molasses and I tried looking it up what is its use?

You want to use unsulphered organic molasses. It just gives the plants extra sugars and what not. Some people say it gives it better flavor. Who knows really though. I use 1tsp per liter.

And the reason I was asking about the flush is because I am doing a scrog with Four plants two in front and two and back and it will be rather difficult to flush the back two plant

I've put plants in the bathtub before and just flushed with a shower head the kind on a hose. When I saw the color of the junk coming out, like dark orange milky crap flushing out, that's when I just filled the tub and started to ebb and flow the pots to flush them real good by just setting the pot in the tub picking it up and repeating a bunch, then drained the tub and flushed with the shower head again. Not sure why it was so nasty in those pots. Fermented roots maybe, I don't know. That was for a grow when I used Vermifire soil and the full line of Foxfarm nutes, as well as molasses, CalMag+, bontanicare ph up/down, RO water, and I'm probably forgetting what else. If its real bad like that a good product to use would be Cannazym, a enzym suppliment that will eat dead roots so the dead roots don't ferment, cause molds or disease and the such. You could also use a product such as Dark Energy or Big Bud which are Amino supplements. Cannabis is a c3 plant and can only use L amino's or left handed, left spinning amino acid's. L-Amino's have a chelate effect on nutes which make it easier for the plant to feed, this helps prevent nute lockout. Which nute lock out is one of the reasons to flush. Example being that when you feed a plant maybe something that is NPK 2 1 1 every feeding. Then over time the plant might use up all of the P and K but only 1 part of N, so then you feed again NPK 2 1 1. This time the same thing the plant uses up 1 1 1 of each. Over time that left over 1 part of N for example can build up as salts. This N buildup can lock out the P and K or something else. So you would flush to rid the excess N and salt build up. If you run a L-Amino supplement that will chelate nutes, this will help prevent nute lock out. So seeing your perdicament with the scrog setup, I would recommend Dark Energy or Big Bud. Maybe even some Cannazym as precaution so if there is any issues such as fermented roots the enzymes will take care of that.

Yea, that's why I LST instead of scrog. It's so much easier being able to take the plant out and do the feed...etc. if it's too difficult it's not the worse thing if you can't flush IMO.

As long as you cut back or give just water the last 2 weeks or so, and make sure the plant has used up all the stored nutes. You don't want to end up with bud that taste briny from nutrient salts, or have a metallic taste or any other nute burning taste/smell. I've accidentally broken a branch close to harvest before a flush but decided to dry and smoke it. It tasted horrible and you could smell like nute salt in the air. The plant using up all the stored nutes and even after a flush is why its normal for a plant to show signs of yelling late to mid bloom. Here is a pick of some of mine after a flush, but they went on forever and didn't show enough cloudy heads till about a month or so later if I remember right. My cam didn't pick it up so well, but the buds had a bit of almost a blue hue in contrast to the yellowing. I thought it looked really cool.

Yeah I was doing LST before I put my screen up but I am using CFLs that's why I went with a screen

I've actually been getting a bit interested in scrog. So far I've pretty much just relied on waiting till the plants are far enough into bloom so stop their initial bloom stretch 2-3 weeks into bloom and then any cola's that have taller shoots I just super crop them and break em down to match the rest of the canopy. Here is a pic of my current grow just one month into bloom showing how even I got the canopy with those techniques. But a scrog seems better.

Nice here's the pic of my 4 plants under the screen you can see how even I got the canopy I just topped it and tired all the branches down And it grew pretty evenly I have 6 to 10 tops on each. That are all I even levelCAM00361.jpg CAM00362.jpg CAM00363.jpg CAM00364.jpg
