Do Indica and Sativa generally require different nutrients?

Just wondering.

Also when people give NPK stats like 20-5-5, could they just as well say 4-1-1? It's not a big deal to me, I just want to make sure they mean the same thing.

I'm far from qualified to give the technicals on this but - but yea - they seem to have some different needs . I used to grow mixed bagseeds in totes and never knew what I was gonna get but on more than one occasion a tote would have a sativa getting claw leaves ( from over fert ) and Indicas thriving healthy as hell all around it .... dont know exactly wich nute was over the limit for the sativa or if the sativa was just able to take in more nutes at the particular ph ?? I dunno ... but the results told me they had some different needs of some form for sure ......

Fertilizer numbers are the percentage by weight. 20/5/5 is 5 times more than 4/1/1. But there's a lot more to it, such as when these numbers are available. Usually liquid fert is quickly available so it can be much "hotter" than, for instance a slower time release granular fert. That's why you see the lower numbers for a liquid fert, generally speaking. Some ferts have quickly available, mid available, and long release available, etc., etc.
Varieties of species have different fert requirements based on environmental and genetic makeup. Good question, subscribed.
