Do-it-yourself Ozone Generator

I just found this cheap ozone generator page and thought it might be useful. This is not my page and I do not take any credit for the idea. I also would not recommend building this unless you have some good knowledge of electrical engineering. Electrocution or fire is not something that you want!

I think this might be ideal for a small grow cabinet if you were to run it on a timer for (guessing here) a few minutes every hour. High concentrations of Ozone are dangerous! I would consider this because it's a lot smaller than a carbon filter and can be very inexpensive to build from your PC junk box.

Assuming the safety issues are taken into account and one was to spend a bit more for a proper enclosure and insulation, do you think this would be overkill?

There are some great ozone makers that are basically kits. It comes with the power supply and screen, you just make your own box. That way you don't have to worry about creating/sizing your own high voltage plate.

From a safety standpoint, spend 80 bucks on a high quality kit and just build your own box so you can flange it if you want to add it into your vent system.

These guys sell one of those kits. I haven't tried it myself, but I'm thinking about ordering one so I can say yes I've purchased one, and yes it works well. I
would normally suggest Living Air Classic or something but they're pretty pricey.. Would be nice to have an alternative that costs 1/5 of the more commonly used units.

SICK!!!! I need to make one that is pretty easy! I thought it would be way harder. Good find man props.

R2F, I could order one but I am a bit paranoid about ordering such items online. I don't have a secondary address for which to ship supplies, and it's a potential way to get busted. Especially since I'm a long way from the U.S. and this means more customs checks. Call it paranoia but I want to be as careful as possible. :)

I'm knowledgeable about electrical engineering so I'm quite confident that I could build one of these safely. The picture above is a bit dangerous in my opinion; I would spend a bit more on an enclosure for the plate.

I might build one of these and experiment with masking burning incense or cooking smells for example. I have to find a shop which sells glass slides for the plate first, though. I think any hardware store should have adhesive aluminum tape.

If it handles strong incense then I think it should handle the odor from one or two plants just fine. :)

Ozone generators by default shouldn't spark suspicion. Here in the US anyway, most people I know have a couple in their house for regular use. (non-smokers)

Other countries might be different though.

Yeah. I don't know of anyone who owns one in the country where I am living.
