Do you lollipop everything? what about when you SCroG?

So this is my second grow, I topped and I'm trying to do LST, and I plan to do a scrog net once the plants seem ~1ft tall (I just waiting to have enough stems to fill my screen)

With LST I'm just bending down the tallest stems.
But I'm not sure if I should be chopping off some of the stems? With scrog I feel like I will need ~16 stems to fill me 2x2ft floor space / plant (4" wide squares) so I don't think I want to chop off any stems that are growing.

Every grow picture I see though has lollipopping done. So I don't know if this is universally good to do, or if people just like it because it makes great pictures :O

I attached some pics of my 2 plant bases where I would chop stems if it is smart. My plants are 8" tall and pretty bushy right now.

Don’t be cutting anything at this stage. Definitely don’t start trying to lollipop. Get them a bit taller and place your scrog. Once you actually have the scrog pretty much filled it’s appropriate to start removing the stuff below the scrog.
